Busy weekend and meeting “Santa”

Published by Kerry | Filed under Uncategorized

We have had a VERY busy weekend – thank goodness my Mom has been here to help out with the boys!  Saturday morning my Mom and Jeff played with Max and Wes while I (finally) cleaned (part of ) the upstairs – boy did that feel good!  That afternoon we had another photo shoot with our friend, Kari, and OMG – trying to wrangle two VERY active, VERY curious (almost) 10-month olds is HARD!!!  Jeff and I were breaking a sweat just trying to get the boys to sit still for one second, but I think it was worth it…we got a sneak peek of a few of the photos, and they are AMAZING.  I cannot wait to share a few of them with you all!  Saturday night, after we got the boys snug in their cribs, we headed back over to Kari and Tyler’s house for their annual Christmas party, and a good time was had by all!

This morning I was up at the crack of dawn to get ready to co-host my friend, Tiffany’s, baby shower.  What an amazing day – there was so much love between the friends and family members – this little girl is certainly going to be loved.  =)  A big thank you to my in-laws for letting us have the shower at their house…it was perfect.

Later this afternoon, we headed down to the JW Marriott in Cherry Creek for the boys to meet “Santa”, who was actually Chris “Birdman” Andersen from the Denver Nuggets.  He was doing this special appearance for his charity, and we thought it was a great way to give back and have the boys’ first meeting with Santa be a different one.  Before we left home, Jeff had a fantastic idea to get the boys ready for their big night out (thanks to my cousin Brook, and her husband, Scott, for the super fun baby tattoos).  We gave Max a fauxhawk, since that’s the Birdman’s signature hairstyle, and boy did he notice!

We were the last group to get there (hey, better late than never), and it was perfect – we didn’t have to worry about all of the germs and people and crowds that normally accompany a meeting with Santa Claus – there were about 15 people there when we arrived.  Max and Wes received a lot of smiles and “awwww”’s when Birdman’s entourage saw them, it was cute.  And when we got up to meet him, he said “they saved the best for last”, and he also commented on Max’s hair and both boys’ tattoos (he looked at each of them and said, “nice tats, little dudes!”).  He was extremely friendly and gracious, and even signed two Nuggets hats and photos for Max and Wes.

Enjoy the pics, I gotta get to bed!!!

They are too freakin’ cute! Love the tattoos!

My son has lots of hair for a 9 1/2 month old so he has been rocking the fauxhawk since 3 months ;)
