Want vs. Need (Part Two)
Published by Kerry | Filed under Uncategorized
Despite the desire to have all the coolest baby stuff, I think we both realized that the “Want” (below) is not practical. Honestly how often would we have ever lugged it around…probably not very much. And as much as we both like the idea behind the hook on high chairs, you can’t really angle them at all to get a better sitting position for a feeding. We read everyone’s comments and found that the Fisher Price Healthy Care line of chairs is a popular choice. So it looks as if we may have decided on this one:
It gets great reviews on a number of sites, mostly 4 and 5 stars, and seems to be really easy to clean. We are going to pick one up tonight to test it out. Worst case, we don’t like it and we take it back. Major upside is the price, at only $27.99.
Does anyone have any experience with this exact one? Thought or concerns?
If anyone is in for a good laugh (or not) go to the Fisher Price site and take a look at the “Better for Mom” section. A little sexist maybe?

We have the comparable one from Safety 1st and love it. This type of high chair is so versatile and easy to use, it’s great!

Our favorite thing about the healthy care booster is how easy it is to clean. I take it outside and hose it off when it gets really bad, and I love that! I also like that once she’s big enough to not need a highchair she can use it as a booster. And it’s easy to travel with.

Just a mite sexist.
There are way to many companies/people out there who don’t realize parenting has changed (YEA!) and don’t appreciate all you great hands-on Dads. I like the chair; also think it will be used longer since it’s not so different and they will get to sit on a chair “just like the big kids”. Somehow I don’t think Max and Wes will be shy, un-opinionated little souls.

These are the ones we have for the girls and we love them! Just make sure to buy a lot of really cheap tablecloths to put underneath of them when they start feeding themselves. Just take it outside and shake it off.

Grandparents have the Saftey First version and Jaime has the one you are getting! They are great!! Easy to clean and you can still through them in the car if you are going to friends/grandparents houses where you know there won’t be a high chair….we take them to Lake Powell every year! Good choice and for the price you can loose!!

That’s the exact one N has at my mom’s house. I’m about ready to get rid of the FP space saver chair I’ve used for three years and get that same one for my house too. Can’t go wrong with it.

That’s the one I was going to suggest. I LOVE it. We have had 4, 2 for at home, and one for work and one for my parent’s house. They are super easy to travel with, easy to clean, good from 6 months to literally 3+ years (we stopped using the tray and used it as a booster). GOOD choice guys!

We have that one for K and love it. We also bought one to keep at my parent’s house as well. My one and only complaint about it is that I can’t figure out how to get the straps clean, but the rest of it is super easy to clean up after she eats. Grows with them too – now, K climbs into it and we scoot her up to the table without the tray.

We have it as well! we had a high chair that we did use for a while – but then when E started to eat with us and at the table that one was better. and he was sitting in it for crafts and other table activities. We’ve taken it to restaurants – so much more stable than the rest. booster chairs.

Good choice! We used one similar to that for a long time. The only issue I had with them was that there wasn’t much height between the tray and the seat, so he quickly outgrew the tray (which was fine as we just pushed it up to the table, but might be something to check out if you use the tray for long.)

We have this seat and it has worked well for us. We used to take it to small group and I keep it in my car. We have a regular high chair at home and it takes up a lot of space.
