Happy long weekend!

Jeff took Max and Wes to the pediatrician on Thursday (it was actually an appointment for Wes, but we wanted to get both boys weighed), and we finally got Wes on some medicine for his reflux (Axid).  We had been a little bit concerned because we noticed that he had some discoloration in his spit up, and it turns out that it was blood.  Dr. Brandon thinks that it was due to irritation in his esophagus from spitting up so much (because of the reflux).  Poor baby!  Anyway, Jeff came home with the medicine and some new formula for us to try (the third one we’ve tried so far).  The new formula is more thick and it’s predigested so that Wes’s little body won’t have to work so hard to break it down.  It’s only a temporary thing (being on this new formula), and thank God – it’s expensive!!!  Dr. B wants him to be on it for a couple of weeks until his esophagus heals and he stops spitting up blood (which he already has).  He hasn’t seemed to struggle as much with the reflux, so we’re very happy about that.

Oh, and both boys are growing like little weeds – Max was 9 pounds, and Wes is tipping the scales at 11 pounds!

So far we’ve had a pretty laid back (long) weekend.  I’ve gotten some cleaning done, we had some friends over last night for the Nuggets/Lakers game, and apparently I drank too many margaritas during the game, because I didn’t feel so hot this morning.  Oopsie!  We’ve spent the day today just laying around the house (damn rain!), Jeff and I catching up on some zzzz’s, while our boys and Rex laid with us.  I’m really savoring this time with Max and Wes, because I know it won’t last long – it’s just so sweet when they fall asleep laying on our chests.  I can’t get enough of it!

Here are some pictures I took today of all of our boys!  Oh, and just so you know, we do bathe our babies – their faces just look a little greasy because of the ointment we use on the rashes they both seem to have on their faces.  =)
