This morning I decided to take the afternoon off from the NICU. I have far too many things to get done today, and not nearly enough hours in the day to get them done. My trips to the NICU during the day take up around 4-5 hours, and I need those hours today to run errands. I am trying desperately not to feel guilty about not seeing our boys until tonight (with Jeff), but it’s really, really hard to not feel bad.
The one bright spot in my day of getting tons of things done? A hot lunch date with my husband at one of our favorite restaurants down the street! Woo hoo!

Good for you girl! Glad to hear (well….read) that you are all doing well. Sorry I just got this “best wishes and congratulations” to you. I’m sure you’ve been swamped with them any way. Kerry, having a hot date with Jeff is an excellent idea! It is a very healthy one as well. Parents need to make a little time for themselves. A friend of mine takes her grandkids for an overnight on Fridays so that her daughter and son-in-law can have some special time to themselves on a regular basis. Sometimes they go out, sometimes they have friends over, sometimes they just enjoy some quiet time together. Grandma enjoys the special time with her grandkids as well!
I hope you and Jeff can get a few hours on a regular basis just for the two of you. The boys are special, and so is your marriage. Taking care of both will be a challenge with twin boys, yet both are essential for a happy family.
You and Jeff are doing a great job and the boys are so darned cute! Hang in there and enjoy the ride, with all its ups and downs. Those tiny babies will be strapping adults before you know it!
