Max and Wes Eating Pasta Pt. 1

We are experiencing some technical difficulties, please be patient.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!

Published by Kerry | Filed under Our House

So, after my little freak out on Monday night, it turns out we didn’t really have much to worry about.  A new plumber, a snake, and $100 later, and we are all set to get our new carpet installed tomorrow.  The plumber recommended buying some sort of water gauge to put on the floor in the laundry room – it sounds an alarm when water touches it.  Fantastic idea, and even more fantastic, it’s only about $20.

For those of you who think I may have been overreacting about this whole situation, I probably was – BUT – you probably don’t know about the plumbing massacre of 2006.  It was my 30th birthday party, and the downstairs toilet started backing up (when there were probably 35 people in our house) – good times.  Well, after they tore apart our front lawn and excavated part of our driveway, oh – and charged us $4500 – we were all set.  It was horrible.  And I was terrified that we were going to have a repeat of three years ago, and that’s why I went nutso.  I don’t think the double dose of pregnancy hormones helped much…

Anyway, Jeff and his brother, Marty, are downstairs right now, moving the large furniture into the garage for the night, and earlier Marty’s wife, LeAnn, and our favorite little nephew, Asher, were helping move stuff, too.  Thanks, guys!!!!  I keep going downstairs to look around, and I can’t believe that we are finally getting new carpet – something we’ve wanted to do for the past four years.  The main reason we are getting the new carpet now is because we were already tearing apart the old spare bedroom/future nursery, so we figured “why not”?  But this will also help with the resale value of our home when we outgrow it very, very soon.  Anyway, I’m sure you all don’t care about that, so I’ll shut up now.

I mainly wanted to update that the plumbing issue was no big deal.  Oh, and that we may have a prospective new home for Freddie (and yes, she knows all about his bite history and still wants to give him a chance).  Things are definitely looking up!

YAY!! Glad to hear the plumbing problem turned out to be relatively minor, and that you have a potential new home for Freddie. Hormone swings during pregnancy can take a toll on your emotions – be kind to yourself, okay? Things will calm down.
